Artist's Comments

These are my three up and coming pieces. I just couldn't help myself! After all, I keep jumping around forgetting to complete things. So here is what I've been working on so far, and hopefully what I plan on uploading individually once I've finished. Enjoy for now!

I noticed you placed this work under "mixed media"......what are the different media you used?
and do you airbrush your work?

"What do you think the artist thinks about? Do they think about fine wines or black tie affairs? No, they live for that narcotic moment of creative bliss. A moment that may come once a decade, or never at all." ~Art School Confidential~

Why thank you! ^_^

The reason I put mixed media is because, well, there are three pieces included in this little sneak peek - all produced in different media. Two of the works are indeed done in more than one medium. To be more specific, the black and white piece is done in pen, India ink, and black colored pencil (the totally black negative spaces are India ink, the framework and detail of the image are done in pen, and the shading in the mandala are in colored pencil). The colorful Native American looking one is done in colored pencil and watercolor pencil (the man is done in colored pencil, and the cave-looking corners are done in watercolor pencil - watercolor pencil gives an awesome texture by the way ;)). The piece that looks like a caduceus (the rod with wings and twisting figures) is done solely in colored pencil. And I absolutely do NOT airbrush - I'm a 100% traditional artist ^_^ I just like that hands-on feeling with my work - that there's that direct transfer of mental information to the canvas - and that in a way, I've left more of a fingerprint with my art, ya know? For instance, a lot of my colored pencil pieces were blended with saliva - so there's literally a ton of little DNA strands lying all over the surface of my drawings - and that's what makes it mine. Even past the signature, it's identifiable as my child - hehe :D ... or it could just be a conduit for contracting a virus haha - a better reason to look but not touch! XD

Haha! Yes, I do consider myself to take my sweet time on developing more original techniques - but then again, that's the job of any artist. I love your work so much - your talent translates amazingly in whatever you work with! :)
